I grew up in Monmouth, Illinois and graduated summa cum laude from Monmouth College, majoring in music and elementary education. Virginia Beach, Virginia has been my home since 1987. Music lessons in my home studio fill most days; finding ample time for art projects and practicing music is life's constant challenge. First Landing State Park and the Chesapeake Bay are each just a short walk from home, so morning hikes have become an essential part of my daily routine.  My librarian daughter, Sara, lives in Virginia Beach, too, and is the designer of this website.
